Empowering Parents event

Thank you to all the parents, carers and professionals that attended the AGM and Empowering Parents day, it was a great day, with lots of information sharing.  We have updates our website with the presentations from Fridays AGM,m these can be found under the useful websites/information page. We will be updating this section with information and feedback parents gave us on the day as soon as possible

Empowering Parents Event – FULL

We are delighted that the empowering parents event on Friday 18th march has been completely booked up. Please do not turn up if you have not booked a place.

Disability Living Event

On Thursday 10th March 09:30 -16:30 at Jaguar Exhibition Hall, Coventry, there is the  event for parents/carer  on supporting children and young people, please click on the link for a list of exhibitors and seminars running on the day event1. Although this is not a forum event, one of our  management group parents is planning on attending, and would happily transport parents with her.

We are jointly running Self -Advocacy workshops with AFASIC on 28th June 2016 at Hilton Village Hall, or 29th June 2016 at Ashover Village hall. If you would like to attend please book quick as spaces are limited.

As with all our events/training and forums we will reimburse travel expense, organise and pay for a taxi, and reimburse childcare/care costs for young people to enable you to attend as a parent/carer.  Getting information is key to being able to support your child/young person.

  • If you have booked a place but can no longer attend please let us know so we can offer it to another parent/carer.

Empoweing Parents and Carers Event

Dont forget to book you place for the 18th March 2016 at the Derbyshire Hotel just off junction 28 of the M1.  We will reimburse your travel and child care, we can also arrange taxi transport and there is a free bookable creche on site, come along and meet other parents, find out what the forums has been doing and learn some new information to ensure your child/young person is getting the best from their EHCP/Statement

Empowering Parent Event book now while places are still available

On 18th March 2016, we are holding an Empowering Parents Event.   We have some great speakers, that will help you think about how parents can get involved and make a difference, both to the SEND community through Healthwatch and  to your own child/young person, thinking about SMART Outcomes, and Aspirations.  This is your chance to learn something new, and to see what the forum has been doing, what our plans for 2016-2017 are, and hopefully celebrate our charity status.

The AGM will be held at the Derbyshire Hotel, 10:00-14:00 and lunch will be provided. You need to book you place. please see the link for more details and booking information
